Joaquín Fernández Pérez, MD, PhD

Dr. Joaquín Fernández, MD is specialized in Ophthalmology and Anterior Segment Surgery: Refractive Surgery, Presbyopia, Keratoconus, and Cataracts, obtaining his PhD in Physics applied to Sciences and Technology by the University of Alicante (Spain). Nowadays, he is Medical Director at QVision, Ophthalmological Unit of Vithas Hospital Group in Almería. He is also in charge of the Ophthalmological Department at the Torrecárdenas Hospital (Almería) and leads the Keratoconus Department in the East Andalusian, both in the Health Public System. Member of the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) and European Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery (ESCRS), he has published in national and international research journals (JRS, JCRS, etc) in addition to his participation in the writing of books related to the speciality. As anterior segment surgeon with a wide experience, he has conducted live surgeries and communications at many national and international ophthalmology congresses.
