Medicontur Premium Class

Speakers

Prof. Sathish Srinivasan

MBBS, FRCSEd, FRCOphth, FACS

Professor Srinivasan is a consultant corneal surgeon and joint clinical director at the University Hospital in Ayr, Scotland. He completed his ophthalmic residency in the Aravind Eye Hospital in India, and went for higher surgical training to the St. Paul's Eye Unit of the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, UK. Later he won a two-year clinical fellowship in Cornea, External Diseases and Refractive Surgery in the University of Toronto, Canada. His main fields of professional interest are lamellar corneal surgery, micro incision cataract surgery and anterior segment reconstruction. He has publised over 85 papers in peer-reviewed journal and has held over 60 scientific presentations at national and international congresses. He is a recipient of the Achievement Award and International Scholar Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology. In 2012 he was awarded the Honorary Fellowship of the American College of Surgeons, and is the associate editor of the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Carlos Rocha-de-Lossada

MD, PhD, FEBO

Carlos Rocha-de-Lossada, MD, PhD works in the Qvision team lead by Joaquín Fernández Pérez MD, PhD in the Hospital Universitario Virgen de las Nieves in Granada, Spain. He graduated from the Medical Faculty of the University of Cordoba and specialized in Ophthalmology, Cornea and Anterior Segment Surgery at the Regional University Hospital Of Málaga. He obtained his PhD at the University of Malaga. His main fields of interest are lamellar, endothelial and penetrating corneal transplantation. He is the author and co-author of several scientific articles and book chapters. He has conducted more than 60 lectures at national and international conferences. He also has research experience in a number of clinical trials.

József Győry

MD, MSc

József Győry, MD, MSc is the CEO of Retina Szervíz Kft. Private Clinic in Veszprém, Hungary. Formerly, he was the Chief Medical Officer of the Department of Ophthalmology in the Csolnoky Ferenc Hospital Veszprém, Hungary. He has been working in the field of ophthalmology for more than 33 years. His work narrowly targeted diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, cataract and refractive surgery among others. He was a tutor of several degree theses. He held more than one hundred lectures and is the author of numerous articles and book chapters.

Alexandra Kontur

MD, PhD

Dr. Alexandra Kontur graduated in 1996 from the Medical Faculty of Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. From 1996 to 2006 Dr. Kontur worked for the Department of Ophthalmology of the 1st Medical Faculty of Charles University and specialized in the field of inflammatory eye diseases. She conducted research work at the Department of Medical Chemistry and Clinical Biochemistry of the Medical Faculty and focused on oxidative damage of the retina and crystalline lens under oxidative stress. She has authored and co-authored several scientific publications and books focused on uveitis, which were repeatedly awarded by the Czech Society of Ophthalmology as best published clinical paper. Her clinical paper “Diagnosis and treatment of intraocular lymphoma” was cited best worldwide clinical papers during the 2006 WOC in Sao Paulo. As the scientific director at Medicontur Medical Engineering, Dr. Alexandra Kontur has been leading clinical studies and clinical symposiums, enhancing the scientific department of the company since 2010.

Mónika Adányi

Mónika Adányi graduated from the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Biotechnology at Budapest University of Technology and Economics. In 2007 she earned a bachelor's degree as a chemical engineer then she finished her master's degree specializing in engineering in pharmaceutical industry. She has been working at Medicontur since 2019 and started to get familiar with ophthalmology. As a Medical Affairs Manager, she offers support for surgeons and distributors from performing accurate IOL power calculation to postoperative problem-solving.
